The government has taken a big decision regarding the Final Year Exams which will be held from October 1 to October 31. In a statement issued yesterday, it has stated that all Teachers must have a 100 per cent Attendance Compulsory in colleges during the time when exams are conducted.
This decision applies to all teachers associated with the University as well as it's affiliated colleges, autonomous colleges and self financed colleges.
The results of the exams are scheduled to be released in November's first week. The order issued by the government does not favour the teachers as the anger and frustration was clearly seen across the state.
Dr Tapati Mukhopadhyay of Maharashtra Federation of Universities and Teachers Organisations said "At the time when gathering is being discouraged and Covid-19 cases are on the rise, the government wants teachers to attend colleges in full strength. Since the exams,will be held online, why should teachers unnecessarily come to college?"
In another announcement the University department announced that Government has approved to merge Institutions started under the same management from Academic Year 2020-21. Earlier the All India Council of Techincal Education allowed Institutions offering diplomas,degrees and post graduate degrees in Techincal and Management Courses to merge.
